The Importance of Vehicle Emission Tests

Chairman of the Indonesian Workshop Association, Yayat Ruhiyat, said that the emission test was carried out to determine the efficiency of combustion in the vehicle engine.

“Emission tests are carried out to detect vehicle engine performance and pollution as well as air pollution caused by motor vehicle exhaust gases can be reduced,” said Yayat. “This is an effort to reduce air pollution levels,” he added.

Yayat said, vehicles are required to pass an emission test after passing 10,000 km and ideally done once a year. “Because of the settings and vehicle conditions that like to change,” he said.

According to Yayat, vehicle emission tests carried out regularly can provide various benefits, namely:

  1. The effectiveness of the fuel combustion process in a car engine can be determined by analyzing the CO2 and HC content contained in the exhaust gas.
  2. An emission test helps make precise adjustments to the air and fuel mixture.
  3. The performance of the car engine used can be ascertained whether the car engine is in good condition and reliable or not.
  4. Fuel efficient yet optimal power.
  5. A healthy environment with clean air can be realized.
  6. Damage to car engine parts can be identified.
